Maureen Kelly

 

 
Maureen Yvonne Kelly is originally born in Canada but grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. Maureen has been in the "Hospitality" business her whole life. Her parents owned and operated restaurants before the time she was born. She started at McDonald's when she was fifteen and worked through high school developing a strong work ethic and great organizational skills. At 17 she got on board with Choice Hotels International at a Quality Inn and Suites on Daytona Beach. She was quickly promoted to a Front Desk Supervisor roll, which led to a Front Desk Management roll. Maureen had a General Manager that believed in her so much he set her up to participate in Choice Hotels Certified Lodging Manager program, she learned at a very young age the business operations  aspect of hotel management. 
 
In 2002, Maureen returned to Canada. In 2003, she enrolled in Georgian College for the  Hotel/ Resort Management Program which led her to Banff, Alberta to work with the world renowned Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, famous 778 room, Fairmont Banff Springs. After working a summer co-op in Banff, Maureen returned to Banff when school was done to rejoin the Fairmont Banff Springs team. Maureen worked for the Banff Springs Hotel for five years holding rolls such as Front Desk Supervisor, Sales Coordinator and Spa Administrator. Maureen met her Husband in Banff and got married on the top of a mountain, she went on to travel the continent with her partner eventually landing on Vancouver Island. Since her arrival in Victoria, she has held management roles with Magnolia Hotel and Spa, Hotel Grand Pacific and is the current Guest Services Manager of the beautiful 100 year old, new Hotel Rialto - downtown Victoria's exclusive boutique hotel. If you ask Maureen if there is any other career out there for her, she will say no-way..."there is no better career than one that lets you help people, helping people has helped me".
